COVER LETTER

In 2009, I had my first main role as a professional and what I believe a lifetime opportunity: to design and front-end code the main digital project of MTV’s main event of the year VMB (Video Music Brazil Awards). The project achieved excellent results in digital livestream audience, using interactive technologies only seen nowadays in a major scale. The project won the best digital case of Grupo Abril - at the time, the largest and most influential Communication and Distribution group in Latin America. After this successful project, I started my own business at the age of 22 - a Creative Agency. This quickly caught the attention of investors and larger clients, growing from one (me) to 18 employees in less than a year.

I consider as my main professional challenge becoming the head of Design and Marketing of Brazil’s largest healthy fast food chain, Salad Creations. There I was able to apply every aspect of branding and retail design, leading to a substantial restructure in naming, branding, architecture and business strategy. During those two years I was the leader of this massive project, where we had to sell the new idea to the franchisees and rollout 45 point of sales, in 12 different states.

In 2018, I took yet another challenge, designing a bar/restaurant in the city of Sorocaba (located in the state of São Paulo). I took care of all aspects from the ground up such as identity, architecture, business strategy, retail design, photography, drinks, menu and built a team of people to implement the concept that had been developed. The restaurant, named Kós Fresh Greek, was an instant success becoming the best restaurant in town on the second month of opening and on the third month the biggest sales in wine in São Paulo’s countryside.

Currently, I am looking for an opportunity to apply my experience and knowledge in a different culture and business environment.

WEHO

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

WEHO brings to Brazil the concept of co-ownership, for everyone who dreams of having an amazing second home to call their own.

Having a second home is an unattainable dream for many people and a headache for many. Many beach, country or mountain houses are unoccupied most of the year. At the same time, thousands of people dream of having a place to spend the weekend or vacation.

SOLUTION

I started the project with only the logo designed by a different professional, I designed the rest of the identity and applied it to the digital project that was also developed from scratch (UX/UI) and created the concept around the use of frames and light tones to translate the well-being of a luxury country or beach house.

DRIVE INT.

Zürich - Switzerland

PROJECT

Drive Int. Had a classic case of having tried and struggled to create a digital branding with many freelancers during the past years (an unfortunate reality for mid-size companies). I had the challenge to rebuild everything from the ground up, participating in strategic decisions which made this one of the greatest projects I have worked in a while.

SOLUTION

I flew from São Paulo to Zurich to work along the Drive Int. Team for a week in order to absorb as much company culture as possible and express that into the all new digital branding gathering a group of great professionals to work along myself developing what is now a consistent identity throughout their channels and having a positive impact in branding perception at their fair events and wholesales results.

KÓS FRESH
GREEK

Sorocaba - São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

First Mediterranean tavern ever to open its doors out of São Paulo’s capital in a countryside city called Sorocaba. The starting point for the project was trusting that no matter where you are, people will enjoy good food, an accessible wine list and well-made cocktails at a fair price.Introduced simple, but well-made cocktails led to an impact on other restaurants in the city. Introduced Mediterranean cuisine to a wider range of people.

SOLUTION

Best restaurant in the city on the second month of its existence;Discredited the myth that “the countryside prefers to drink beer”, by breaking the record of monthly wine sales of the whole countryside of São Paulo.Achieved break-even on its third month of operation.

AGÊNCIA
SABIÁ

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

Sabiá Agency is one of the rare case of a compact team working for mid and large size clients achieving results with fair investments. My role as a partner was to raise the graphic design quality and creative process to maintain the work enthusiasm and level of professionalism. I have also led an inside process to redesign Sabiá's brand and illustrations.

SOLUTION

With a fresh new look, better creative process, teams working together in a collaborative way we have achieved a greater level of end product quality and satisfaction both from inside our team and from clients that led to a significant year by year growth.

BLINDAGENS

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

Pioneers in the armoring company in Brazil, G5 is a family run business with great ingredients for a branding exercise. The company's marketing was stuck in the year 200,  there was a lot of ground to cover, from revisiting brand positioning in a competitive market and redesigning all customer touchpoints.

SOLUTION

A complete redesign from the bottom up, maintaining the company heritage and launching it for the next 35 years ahead with a sleek new look & feel, strategy and set for the digital world.

2017

VALDIR
CRUZ

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

Valdir Cruz was born in Guarapuava, in the Southern State of Paraná, in 1954. He began his photography in 1983. Although he has lived in the United States for more than thirty years, much of his work in photography has focused on the people and landscape of Brazil.From 1995-2000 he photographed Faces of the Rainforest, a project documenting the life of indigenous people in the Brazilian Rainforest, for which he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1996. Since then he published eleven photography books.

SOLUTION

Cruz is represented in the permanent collections of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP), the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, the New York Public Library, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, TX, and the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, among others.I had the pleasure to work with an artist of this caliber designing his digital identity and a couple of exhibitions.

BOALI

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

The first and largest healthy food franchise in Brazil, which started in 2012 under the American brand Salad Creations (focused on salads) and then becoming Boali Alimentação Saudável (wider range of products) in 2016, with 45 point of sales in 12 different states. Conducted and designed the marketing plan leading all daily operations with both brands living together during rollout.

VINIL
BURGER

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

I've been working for Vinil Burger since it's creation, I sat together with the founders to design the logo, the first store, packaging, website, social media, basically anything that was design related I was there, and it's safe to say that I'm proud of the work done along these years and what we achieved together.

SOLUTION

The common approach to a logo would be to design something related to music, and that's exactly the opposite thing that we wanted to achieve. With that in mind, we focus on the revolving grill and hand made grunge typography that could capture and create an intimate relationship between the restaurant an urban chaos.

2015

TAHIN

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

Victor, Cris and Renato are entrepreneurs in the hospitality scene in São Paulo that got together to create a new and exciting hot spot for Middle East food in the city. Renato as a chef had a vision for the menu but that's as far as they got. With no name or concept for the restaurant, they hired me to help them navigate through the challenge of design something unique yet successful in a tiny real estate.

SOLUTION

I started the process for naming, which led to Tahin (flour in Arabic) and began on working on the brand positioning, costumer persona, business strategy and retail design.

Tahin was an instant success and has now 03 other locations in São Paulo with plans to expand its presence even more in 2023.

ANTÔNIO
PETICOV

São Paulo - Brazil

PROJECT

Like a magical prism, everything goes through the brush of this Brazilian artist decomposing into thousands of colors of the solar spectrum. His world is both mathematician and mythical where enthusiasm for celestial mechanics explodes riding rainbows, delimiting aureus sections, rings Moebius, paradoxes “Escherian” and spiral logarithmic, which exude the same magic of feather adornments of the Amazon Indians.

SOLUTION

Just being able to sit in the same room as Peticov to talk about the creative process and how I could design a website that would do justice to his legacy was a huge honor. I took the approach of designing a flex layout that would fit and showcase the same way no matter which screen size and density you had on a desktop and tablet. The same idea was then transported to smartphones layout.
